HTF's HTSX-M8596Sx SFP plus transceiver is ontworpen voor gebruik in 10-Gigabit Ethernet-links tot 300 m via multi-mode glasvezel. De module bestaat uit 850nm VCSEL-laser, PIN en voorversterker in een sterk geïntegreerde optische subeenheid. Digitale diagnostische functies zijn beschikbaar via een 2-draadseriële interface, zoals gespecificeerd in SFF-8472.
